Frequently asked questions

IF I AM A MEMBER OF GAN, DOES MY CHURCH OR MINISTRY JOIN AS WELL?

No, just you. If you would like for your church or ministry to join that would be a separate application process that will be emailed to you.

IS BIBLE COLLEGE OR SEMINARY A REQUIREMENT TO JOIN GAN?

While we strongly believe in the importance of Bible College or Seminary, we do not have that as a requirement. One must agree to and adhere to our Core Values and Articles of Faith as described on our Website.

DOES GAN HOLD CONFERENCES FOR ITS MEMBERS?

Yes we do. We have an annual Summer Conference and regional conferences in the winter/spring of each year. These are designed to be relationship building as well as equipping conferences.

AS A MEMBER OF GAN, WILL I HAVE COMMUNICATION ACCESS TO ITS LEADERSHIP?

Absolutely! We value communication among all our members plus personal communication and access to all our presbytery members. We believe that each member must intentionally pursue relationships and communication with other members.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MINISTERIAL CREDENTIALS, ORDINATION, AND LICENSING?

Ordination is for Pastors with an observable ministry of at least a year. There must be observable fruit not just a declaration of calling. Licensure is available for those who have an observable ministry that is not pastoral. Missionary credentials are also available.

AM I ABLE TO GAIN CREDENTIALS THROUGH GAN IF I HAVE BEEN DIVORCED?

Divorce is not a disqualifier for ordination. The application process will include discussion of current relational status and biblical perspectives of the applicant.

AM I ABLE TO MOVE MY CREDENTIALS TO GAN FROM ANOTHER ORGANIZATION?

You may apply for credentials with GAN and your previous credentials will be noted in the application process. Previous credentials speak of observable ministry which is helpful in the application process.

IS GAN A PART OF A DENOMINATION?

GAN is not a denomination or connected to any such structure. GAN is a collective fellowship of ministers and churches with shared history, vision and relationships joined together for encouragement, support and oversight.

DOES GAN PROVIDE PERSONAL MINISTRY COACHING?

We are not professional ministry coaches but any district overseer or member of the Presbytery will be happy to offer coaching and encouragement from our many years of ministry experience.
